The cloth is part of the process.

It gives you a better grip when opening the vial and keeps it clean. Follow the four steps slowly the first time – it gets easier with every refill.

Fill your perfume vial in four simple steps

Use the transfer cap from your starter set to fill the small smellawear vial with your favourite perfume. Take your time the first time – it quickly becomes second nature.

  1. Remove the perfume spray head

    Carefully pull the regular spray head straight up from your perfume bottle. The small pump stem will be visible underneath.

  2. Attach the transfer cap

    Place the clear transfer cap from your starter set onto the pump stem. This lets you fill the vial with any perfume or eau de toilette you already own.

    Does the transfer cap fit every perfume bottle?

    The transfer cap fits roughly 80% of perfume bottles. For wider or differently shaped openings, hold the smellawear vial close to the pump stem and spray slowly directly into it.

  3. Fill only to the mark

    Important: Do not fill the vial to the top.

    Fill only to the red line or the end of the smellawear lettering. Overfilling can create a vacuum and result in a weaker spray.

    Wipe the vial completely dry with the cloth afterwards. Perfume can be oily – a clean, dry vial stays secure inside the pendant.

  4. Open it again with the cloth

    1. Hold the vial firmly in your dominant hand.
    2. Wrap the cloth around the spray head for extra grip.
    3. Move the spray head gently to the side while pulling it upwards.

    The spray head is especially tight the first time. It becomes easier to open after a few uses.

Did the spray head come apart?

Do not worry – the pump is usually not damaged. Gather the spring and spray-head parts, then reassemble them as shown.
